Hello World my name is Alexandria Caporale. I am nineteen years old and from Greenwich Connecticut, for those of you, that know where that is please do not judge me! For those of you that do not know where Greenwich is it is a very very very wealthy town about forty-five mins out of New York City. Before I go on, just to point out my family is by far NOT wealthy, I get that a lot, which is so stereotypical. I moved to Charleston about a year and a half ago to start at the College, and my family ended up moving here from Connecticut, because who likes high taxes and bad weather all year round. The six words I chose for myself were honest, trustworthy, hardworking, kind, respectful, loving. I choose honest because I am brutally honest, which in my case is not always a great quality to have. But I always want people to be honest with me so I am honest with them. I am very trustworthy because I have had many people hurt me in the little life I have lived, so I have learned to cherish the friendships and family I have. My parents have always taught me to work hard and you will be rewarded in the long run, so I try to work as hard as I can when I am working or at school. Do not get me wrong I am lazy sometimes, and procrastinate but I really do not like to be. I am kind and respectful to others because that’s how I want to be treated, yes that is so basic but that saying has always stuck with me. Lastly, I am loving, because when people meet me, I want them to feel welcomed and know that I will cherish their friendship, and I was also raised in a very loving family.
When creating a digital identity as an educator, I will share for sure my personality. For example, my hobbies, my family (but only my immediate family, which happens to be my mom and dad), my interests, and what I aspire to be as an educator. These are all things that I think will show individuals who I am as a person and will back up those six words I chose to describe myself with. I will not share any information on my extended family, my current relationship, my religious beliefs, and or my political views. These are all things that I do not think are necessary or appropriate for my digital identity as an educator. Lastly, in my personal opinion, I believe people can have many different identities online, and I see this every day on my social media accounts. But my current digital identity is one hundred percent me and real, so I do not plan to have to work hard on my new digital identity that we are creating for this class. I plan to create a digital identity that is very similar to my identity I have now with my social media accounts. The whole key for this project will be to keep being honest and simple because I never want people to think that I am not being my true self.
